Story behind unique interiors, business and entrepreneur

Designer and owner of OXÖ is Jari Halonen from Tornio right in the border of Sweden and Finland. Business is located in a idyllic Oxö road in one of the tiny island in Tornio.
As with many people it all started from little boy playing around at his backyard. Like for most of the young boys back in the days nature offered the toys and the playground. Inventing his own toys gave Jari something more than just a toy, it was a piece of art and inspiration.

As a young man Jari followed his passion and started his studies in vocatinal college to became a carpenter. Like everyone of us Jari looked over the fence for more green fields but after working few years his passion called him to Rovaniemi to study in institute of art.
After graduating from Rovaniemi he was asked to become a teacher of handcrafts in comprehensive school in Tornio. This moment took Jari back to his roots and gave him a chance to work in a field he loves.
But there was still something missing.
The sprakle and passion of a little boy was still there. So while Jari was teaching there was ideas of his own business growing inside of him. Encouraging others as a teacher for 16 years he finally closed the circle by establishing his own business of desinged handcrafts and interiors in 1995.

In 1995 business brand started to carry name Puuterä and was called this up till 2016 when it was branded again as OXÖ Lapland Interiors.
OXÖ Lapland Interiors continues Jari´s work by giving customized solutions for people and organisations. Now with more than 20 years of experince Jari Halonen offers unique handmade prducts and his designes to fill your home or business with luxury and convenience.
